Ciate: Mistress & Ladylike Luxe Days

It’s been a while since I painted my nails, so I thought I would try and get the next two of my Ciate Mini Mani Month in one. This is days 9 and 10 (yes, way, way behind) but I truly want to use them not just swatch them. Here is Mistress, a red color with an orange undertone. (It’s more red than shown in this image) With Ladylike Luxe as the gold shade. These colors were perfect together.

November Beauty Box: Glossybox

So, I got my Glossybox for November in the mail yesterday. They had issues with emailing out the tracking numbers three times but at least I got my box. That said, it will be my last. It’s the most expensive one I subscribe to and it’s been consistently disappointing.

My biggest reason for unsubscribing is that I rarely get anything that I will use. I’ve gotten shampoo/conditioner for colored treated hair, hair products for fine hair, and a brown lip gloss, just to name a few.

This box takes the cake though. The blush that was included in this box, the Glossybox one, is the EXACT same one as what I got in LAST month’s box. While it is a color I can use, the thing that irritates me the most is that it’s one of their own products that their reusing, not a good brand. Next, those nail polish stickers… those just feel like a cheap item, and finally, the eye/lip pencil, I was so excited for when I first saw the box. But upon opening the box, the color is almost the same color as my skin, not exactly useful.

I will give props to the Arganics by NuMe Style argan oil included in this box though, it smells amazing, and as I do have dry ends (I’m growing my hair out), I think it will come in handy this winter.

By the way, I absolutely love this card. As a person who writes content for companies, I’ve got to wonder who forgot to proof this before it went to print… Notice how 4 out of the 5 product descriptions are cut off.  :)

Ciate: Halo Nail Days

For the next day in the Ciate Mini Mani Month, we have Halo. It’s a sheer glittery nail polish that is definitely meant to be worn over another nail polish.

To me, it’s one of those that you have that you think about using, but never actually use. In these pictures I have about 4 – 5 layers of this nail polish on so that you could see the effect and its sheerness.

November Beauty Box: Ipsy

I love my monthly beauty box subscriptions. I have three as of the moment: Glossybox, Birchbox, and by far my favorite, Ipsy (formerly known as MyGlam).

Ipsy has been getting better and better just in the three months that I have been a subscriber, while the other two are about to be discontinued. For only $10 you get a lot and it’s actually useful and none of it is FOOD (I’m looking at you Birchbox!)

Anyway, since I have yet to post on Ipsy, I subscribed during my hiatus. Here is my first post on it. I LOVE IPSY! It’s a full bag of makeup, and oh yeah, you get a makeup bag every month.

So here’s this month’s bag. Fabulous stuff for a $10 price tag.

Going down the list you’ve got:

  1. nailtini nail polish in Millionaire
  2. Starlet Cosmetics eye liner pencil in Black
  3. The Balm’s Meet Matt(e) Eyeshadow in Matt Batali
  4. Chella Eyebrow Defining Gel
  5. bareMinerals Moxie lipgloss in Dare Devil
and of course the chocolate makeup bag which it all comes in.

Plus, every month you get deals if you purchase the products in the bag. For example: if you wanted a Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss from bareMinerals, you would save 10%; If you wanted a nail laquer from nailtini, you would save 25% this month. And its every item that you get a different percentage off.

Fantastic deal, right? So if you haven’t signed up for it yet and are still hoping that Birchbox or Glossybox will actually put some quality products in their boxes, I urge you to try this one.

If you want to know more about how any of these products perform, just let me know!

August Birchbox: Beauty School

August’s Birchbox had the theme Beauty School. Since its August and all the kiddies head back to school this month, the title is fitting. The box and products itself is all about the “tools of the trade” when it comes to beauty. Mine arrived a day early with bright yellow packaging.

The card was a bit different this month with a bit more creative look. Instead of one single card with the items listed, it’s an accordion style card. It explains a few brushes, and how they’re used along with tips on how to get the perfect shave as well as how to read a product label. It’d be nice if they’d continue this every month so there’s some facts or helpful tips like what they have on their website. I doubt they will, but I enjoyed it.

Reviewed: Lancome, Wella Professional, AHAVA

I was asked to review a few products that I had received from June’s Glossybox and I finally feel like I’ve got enough of a use out of them to review them confidently. I’m also going to be reviewing Lancome’s new palette. This is my first time doing full-fledged reviews so bare with me.

First, Lancome’s Blush Subtil Palette in Framboise Flirt.
