Skater Skirts are EVERYWHERE!

Everywhere I go, online or in-store, I see skater skirts. To be honest: I love it, too! They’re so cute and simple yet fabulous. They’re extremely flattering and can easily be dressed up or down. Pair them with a button down blouse for work or throw on a sweatshirt for the weekend. Heels, booties, or flats, they will work with everything.

Here’s a short collection that I’ve found that are to die for:

H&M: Marni Collection

We all know the economy isn’t the greatest – even designers know the economy isn’t the greatest which has led to quite a few designers bringing their merchandise to more affordable stores. Just like Missoni and Jason Wu did for Target. Karl Lagerfeld, Lanvin, Jimmy Choo, Roberto Cavalli and Versace have done with H&M.

Well, H&M has another guest designer on its racks. Starting today, you can head to your local H&M store and pick up items by Marni. There’s already reports that the H&M in NYC had a two-hour wait this morning to get in the store, but the good news is there have been no reports of the brand selling out yet. So, if you haven’t hit up your local H&M yet, get on it and grab your pieces!

If you aren’t sure who Marni is, let me give you a little bit of history. The line was created in 1994 as Italian Consuelo Castiglioni became known for her work with furs. Later, she started creating items to wear with the fur. Her line then evolved into what it is today with the additions of clothing, handbags, jewelry and eyewear. Menswear was added a bit later in 2007. Known for her “quirky” design aesthetic, she’s known for color-blocking and playing with textures. Which is very fitting for why she is the current guest designer for H&M.

The collection of Marni for H&M has about 100 items, both men’s and women’s wear. To see more check out H&M’s website.
