Feeling a Bit Blue?

There’s blue everywhere!

It kind of makes you feel like there’s going to be an end to this ridiculously hot, dry summer as this shade of blue is a Fall/Autumn color.

I opened a magazine recently and I swear every page was all about the blue!  Kind of like a cobalt color is what should be in your shopping bag right now.  So, I figured I would dedicate a post to the color, just in case you felt a bit blue…

As always, click the photo to shop :)

July Glossybox

I received my July Glossybox actually in the month of July!!

I’m pleased. However, it still did take from the 16th until the 28th to get halfway across the country (NJ to KS). They seriously use the worst shipping company. Honestly, I’m not sure if I’m happy with this box or just plain completely annoyed. I definitely am partially annoyed, but I’ll get to that when I get to those items. The total of the products add up to well above the $21 that I pay each month, with two full-sized items included.

The theme this month was Summer Nights. It’s for showing off sunkissed hair, sultry eyes, and sexy sandals.

So, here we go, here’s the box followed by the card:

London 2012: Summer Olympics

Let’s face it, fashion and sports don’t exactly go hand-in-hand, but it doesn’t stop us from expecting the Olympians to be well-dressed for the Opening Ceremony. They’re supposed to dress to represent their country and/or their countries traditions, as well as for a formal ceremony. While they don’t go as all-out like the red carpet, there are still some clear winners and losers for fashion.

Among the list of my favorite outfits/ best dressed:

Paraguay – I’m pretty sure Paraguay’s outfits are on the tops of everybody’s list. This by far is the best picture out of all the countries which definitely helps their case. The red dress, the hair accessories, the red ties and blue blazers. It all just works together. Definitely my favorite.

Dior Tailleur Bar Palette

I did a post on makeup design vs functionality a while ago, and while I found quite a few before, I found the one that takes the cake and had to share.

This lovely palette popped up on my Facebook news feed today and it is fantastic!

Christian Dior definitely produced a win when it comes to beauty product means beautiful design.

Meet the Dior Tailleur Bar Palette. It’s limited-edition, exclusively from Saks, and can be purchased for $75. It’s embossed with the iconic Gruau New Look sketch and I count five different colors in this lovely palette.

It’s so pretty, I would love to own it but I would never want to use it for fear of messing it up! I’ll just look at it and pretend I have it instead.

What do you think of this eyeshadow palette?  Would you buy it? (To purchase or view the page on Saks, click the image.)

Birchbox: July Edition

So, I reported on the July Birchbox about a week after receiving my June one. They were already giving hints about it saying they had teamed up with Glamour and it was going to be all about the senses. Well, I received my Birchbox yesterday and it’s the best one yet.

I’m not gonna waste any time today, I’m just diving right in.

Jason Wu Is At It Again!

Jason Wu is keeping busy these days! First, he did his own thing, then joined forces with Target, then announced he’s going to join forces with Neiman Marcus and 23 other designers to put out another collection at Target this December. And now….. he’s teaming up with Nordstrom.

It has been announced today that he is doing a Contemporary line specifically for Nordstrom called Miss Wu.

The details:

– line will be launched for Spring 2013

– it will consist of 40 pieces

– will be in 49 Nordstrom stores and online

– each item will be priced between $195 and $795

– inspiration stems from Jane Birkin and Marianne Faithfull with a 1960s vibe

– bows, a-line skirts, florals, and mini-skirts will be in abundance throughout the collection

While we have months to wait for this to hit shelves, it’s something to look forward to!

Will you be trying out the Miss Wu collection?
