Saint Laurent Paris. It’s Weird, Right?

This past week I was browsing through some magazines and just a few pages in, I came across an ad that needless to say took me by surprise.

It happened to be this ad in particular:

saintlaurent

While we all knew that the new head of Yves Saint Laurent was going to be changing the brand to “Saint Laurent Paris” to go back to its original, it still didn’t seem quite real until you see the first ad. Without the “Yves” and the typical letter style logo, it’s different.

I realize that is the point.  Hedi Slimane, the new creative head, is hoping to go after the younger, more modern crowd, and that’s great, but was it really necessary? Did you find that the original Yves Saint Laurent line was too old for you? To me it wasn’t old, it was classic. I put it on the same shelf with Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Fendi etc. who have no age requirement.

What’s your thoughts on the new branding?

Polyvore: Simple Chanel

I love Chanel (if you can’t tell). Mainly because of what Coco Chanel stood for; she loved elegance and being classy and put that into creating her empire. If you love style, you have to love Chanel ♥.

Do You Wedge?

Every year, around this time, we get bombarded by wedges. Yes, we know – Spring is coming! Bust out the wedges and sandals. But here’s my question: how many people actually do the wedge thing?

I see them at New York Fashion Week, and in print ads but how many people do I see actually rocking the wedge? Very few. I’m 5’2″, so I do understand the need for some height on my shoes, and when boot season ends my choices narrow; however, I still prefer my heels over a wedge in the Spring and Summer.

I have found some cute ones to share though. So if you like to wear them, or just like to look at them, like me, enjoy!
