Skater Skirts are EVERYWHERE!

Everywhere I go, online or in-store, I see skater skirts. To be honest: I love it, too! They’re so cute and simple yet fabulous. They’re extremely flattering and can easily be dressed up or down. Pair them with a button down blouse for work or throw on a sweatshirt for the weekend. Heels, booties, or flats, they will work with everything.

Here’s a short collection that I’ve found that are to die for:

Outfit Inspiration

Sometimes when you’re browsing through the countless catalogs you receive in the mail you think to yourself, “yeah, no one would seriously ever wear that” and then there are other times that you see an outfit and instantly start drooling which makes your wallet cringe.

I love looking through catalogs simply for inspiration on how to reuse my current wardrobe though, I will admit, I do tend to add a few pieces upon browsing catalogs. I’m a shopaholic, so what?

Recently I came across these outfits and am in love. They make me wish for spring!

With a new job just around the corner, I love thinking of new outfit ideas perfect for work and catalogs are always helpful for me.

Where do you find your fashion inspiration?

Lust Item: Chloe’s Marcie Small Calfskin Satchel

I saw this last time I was in Nordstrom and have been in love with it since. Every time I see it I just want to put it on a credit card and have it in my possession! It’s so gorgeous, all leather, and a decent size. The dimensions are: 14″W x 10 1/2″H x 4 1/2″D. Big enough for everything you need plus a book/tablet!! I love this color too. It’s called Nut, kinda funny :) The downside… it’s $1795. Maybe I’ll start saving up for it… It seems like a classy bag that could last you for a long time.

Seeing Double: Longchamp and Nordstrom

I love coming across items that I do a double-take and wonder “haven’t I seen something like that before?!” The last time I did that was a pair of Alexander McQueen look-a-likes at Charlotte Russe.

I’ve found another look-a-like. This time it’s not as close as the McQueen-Russe connection, but it’s still pretty close! It’s a look-a-like of the infamous Longchamp Le Pliage tote made famous by its usefulness on a college campus. It’s lightweight and perfect for carrying a notebook, pens, and a book or two. Plus, it zips completely and because of its nylon exterior won’t be damaged by getting caught in the rain.

Anyway, compare the original Longchamp Le Pliage tote to the one I found in the sale section at Nordstrom…..

Longchamp – Le Pliage Large Shoulder Tote – $128

The Nordstrom option…

Nordstrom – Getaway Tote – $33.98

This one is almost the same exact dimensions, on sale for $33 (normally $58). The only real difference is this is canvas rather than nylon. Still if you want a cute similarity, for $100 less, head over to Nordstroms website and pick up one of these look-a-likes.

Miss Wu is at Nordstrom

Jason Wu has launched a contemporary line called Miss Wu, exclusively for Nordstrom. The line is inspired by the 60s with a color palette of black, white, yellow, and blue. I did a post on this line back in July (here), when they first announced it and now it is finally in stores and online!

There are 40 items available, ranging from $195-$865. (ouch, right?) He has incorporated everything a woman could need: blouses, skirts, sweaters, pants, and coats. Here’s a quick preview of my favorite items:

Etsy Find: Wool Woven Coat

From time to time I find myself browsing Etsy, (even if I never do actually buy anything), but today I feel like I found an item that might break that streak:

etsycoat

This gorgeous handmade wool coat made by happyfamilyjudy comes in Khaki, Orange, Green or Pink, in Small – XXLarge for $86.99. While the price is almost $90, it comes all the way from China and there is a lot of material and detail to the dress. For comparison, I just purchased a plain red peacoat from the mall for $60… why not pay another $22 for a ridiculous cute one?

As always, click the picture for the etsy page.

I had to share this find… Isn’t it just gorgeous?!?!
