Skater Skirts are EVERYWHERE!

Everywhere I go, online or in-store, I see skater skirts. To be honest: I love it, too! They’re so cute and simple yet fabulous. They’re extremely flattering and can easily be dressed up or down. Pair them with a button down blouse for work or throw on a sweatshirt for the weekend. Heels, booties, or flats, they will work with everything.

Here’s a short collection that I’ve found that are to die for:

Alexander McQueen at Charlotte Russe??

Well… kind of.. I was wandering around my local mall and stumbled into Charlotte Russe. While looking at the shoes I happened to see a pair that looked very, VERY familiar. I picked it up, turned to my boyfriend and went “Alexander McQueen!! Google it!” Sure enough, my memory was right on. Black leather booties with a zipper up the front. All they were missing was his signature skull zipper tab and peep toe. Regardless, they were purchased immediately. $935 vs $40…

Here are the actual Alexander McQueen black leather booties I was sure I was seeing:

And here are the Charlotte Russe ones that now belong to me:

Buy them here!

What do you think? Will you be purchasing? Close enough to the original?

Embrace the Lace: Skirts

So here it is, last but definitely not least: skirts. We all wait, rather impatiently for the weather to warm up do we can bust out our skirts. (Guys really don’t understand how much fun it is to be able to wear skirts.) Short, long, half and half, straight, asymmetrical, flowy; Variety!!!

I kind of feel like I’ve saved the best for last or maybe I’m just biased because I think skirts are the most versatile clothing item we girls have at our disposal. You can wear them in the winter or the summer, without covering them up with a cardigan or jacket like a top or dress, you can pair them with tights to really accent the color, belt them, wear them with heels or flats to change the formality of the outfit. A skirt can completely change an outfit in a way jeans can’t. It puts an extra touch of femininity to an outfit that somedays you just love to have and exude.

Without further ado, I give you the skirts. I hope by now you have embraced the lace!

Embrace the Lace: Tops

Tops. The simple part of an outfit that can simply make an outfit. With embellishments or patterns, stripes, cutouts, straps, or … yup, you guessed it, lace.

Honestly, while I love lace, I’m really not a fan of plain lace tops. Ones that have an under-layer I’m a fan of; just plain lace, not so much. I must’ve been traumatized as a child with itchy lace because I put lace on and I’m sure I’m going to bust out in a red rash the second it makes contact with my skin. Anyway, I’m gonna get over my fear this season and try some lace. Hopefully you’re not as odd as I am and have no problem with this trend.

Here are the tops that I found that will help you embrace the lace. I found a lot of affordable options for these, so hopefully you will find one you can add to your wardrobe!
