Skater Skirts are EVERYWHERE!

Everywhere I go, online or in-store, I see skater skirts. To be honest: I love it, too! They’re so cute and simple yet fabulous. They’re extremely flattering and can easily be dressed up or down. Pair them with a button down blouse for work or throw on a sweatshirt for the weekend. Heels, booties, or flats, they will work with everything.

Here’s a short collection that I’ve found that are to die for:

Sheer It Is…

If you haven’t noticed… things are tending to get more and more and more sheer. If you don’t have some pretty under things (slips, chemises, or shorts) this is the season to invest in some. You’re gonna need them. If you’re questioning showing some skin, don’t fret, remember Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City? She wore PLENTY of sheer items and (most of the time) pulled them off without making you wonder why she wanted to show the whole world her bra. So.. the most sheer pieces you will run into are tops, dresses, and skirts. To deal with these pieces gracefully and fashionably, here’s your guide:

For skirts. Simple. Most skirts will have a lining to them. Unfortunately even though they have these, I’ve found issues with even these being too sheer. Here you can do one of two things: slip or cute spandex-y shorts, either of these can be purchased for cheap. For slips, finding them can be a pain as most people find them “out-of-date” and forgo them all together. However, I recently found a perfect slip at Target that was full body and fits perfectly under a short bodycon dress. For shorts, there are some cute ones at Free People, though a bit more expensive at $38. You can find some short frilly shorts in lingerie (think lacy sleep shorts)  if at a complete loss. I stuck with essentially one style here, because it’s the most obvious that there’s a sheer portion to it.
