Add a Wing to that Bag

I haven’t really done one of these posts in a while, and I don’t know why. Guess I haven’t had the time to read any magazines.. But to get back on the ball, here’s a current/upcoming trend for our handbags.

It may not be news to you, but winged bags are in for Spring. It’s not a huge change to bags, just a subtle difference. You’re going to start to see more fabric up by the zipper to create a “winged” look on the more structured handbags.

If you’re wanting to add this trend to your collection, I’ve scoured the web to find quite a few bags of the trend. There’s the high-end Prada and the lower Danielle Nicole.

So, here’s the list:

Prada – Saffiano Large Bi-Color Tote Bag, Talco/Visone – $1890

Embrace the Lace: Dresses

Next up in the lace category are dresses. Like I mentioned in my previous post, Kate Middleton and her famously lace dresses contributed to the love of lace, especially in dresses. From her famous wedding dress to her black lace dresses, we’ve all watched her show just how classy lace can be. That’s the amazing thing about lace. You can make it really casual, like the shorts I showed you yesterday, or you can dress it up.

Half the dresses I found for today are just that – casual, and the other half dressy. Whatever occasion you can make lace work for you.

In no particular order are today’s lace dress finds and if you have any others that you’d like to share I’d love to add to this list!

Nightcap – Victorian Lace Tube Dress – $385

Lover – Serpent Lace Dress – $1025

French Connection – Lizzie Lace 3/4 Length Sleeve – $198

Tibi – Imperial Lace Boatneck Dress – $415

Malene Birger – Salisa Lace Trim Dress $575

Juicy Couture – Festival Lace Dress – $298

Diane von Furstenberg – Sarita Floral Lace Dress – $375

If I may say, this dress resembles what the trendsetter herself started…

That’s all the lace I have for you right now. Next is tops!

Don’t Forget the Easter-egg Colors

With Spring comes color. I’ve already established that in a couple of my most recent posts, but what I haven’t mentioned is the typical pastel Easter-egg colored accessories that are coming this Spring.

Yes, most designers have chosen the bold color route, but a select few are rebelling and going with the opposite subdued approach that are pastel colors.

I know I won’t be purchasing a trendy luxury one like Louis Vuitton or Lanvin any time soon; those are where buying only classics are a must, but I have gathered a few below. If you want to see more of these subtle beauties you can visit Vogue. They put together a lovely slideshow at their site of other coveted pastels.

Louis Vuitton

Marc Jacobs – Little Stam $895

RED Valentino – $495

Diane von Furstenberg Embossed iPad Case – $275

Lanvin shiny calfskin partition clutch bag  – $2,150

I, myself, would be more apt to buy a less expensive Easter-egg handbag or clutch from a place like H&M or Forever 21 to get me through the season. I found a few cheaper alternatives to show as well. Honestly, I’m in love with the BCBGeneration one I have found.

Nine West – Eye for Eye Satchel – $69

BCBGeneration – Charlie Clutch – $78

Lulu’s – Adorb Knobs Studded Purse – $38
